Hollywood action star Tom Cruise continues his preparations to shoot a movie in space. Of course, the preparations are underway within SpaceX and NASA, the partners who will make this movie shoot. While it is not known what the movie will be about, NASA recently published an interview on YouTube as part of the preparations.

In the interview released by NASA, Tom Cruise was talking about the mission with Victor Glover, who was the first black person to go to the International Space Station. While the interview, which was titled “The Body in Space,” was normally recorded in November 2021, NASA released the interview on January 28. The highlights of the conversation between Cruise and Glover were as follows:

Sleeping is the most physically demanding thing in space:

Astronaut Glover asked Cruise, “What were the most physically demanding tasks before, during, and after spaceflight?” answered the question. Glover stated that spacewalks and getting used to sleeping in space are the most difficult things. The astronaut especially stated that sleep is the most challenging part of both education and life in space.

How does the space station smell?

Cruise also asked Glover what the ISS smelled like. Glover replied, “The ISS smells like a factory in general.” But, as can be expected, the astronaut explained that especially the training equipment and the toilet are the places that smell the worst.

It is necessary to ‘get used to sleeping’ when returning to the world:

Cruise also asked whether gravity had an effect on sleep or physicality when he returned to Earth after spending a few days in space. Glover replied, “When I came back to Earth, I had to get used to lying down and especially sitting down again.” Glover noted that sleep quality was generally unaffected.
