China-based social media platform TikTok is becoming popular in its field by incorporating more and more people day by day. So much so that researches reveal that TikTok ranks high among the most used social media platforms. While this is the case, many new moves are coming from TikTok.
It’s a well-known fact that in the Internet age, online music streaming services are gaining a lot of attention. Applications such as Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music provide music and various services to millions of users. The new information that has emerged now shows that the popular social media platform TikTok may also be working on such a service.
Brand application filed for TikTok Music
According to a report first shared by Business Insider, TikTok’s parent company ByteDance has filed a trademark application for a possible music streaming service. This filing showed that the ‘TikTok Music’ service could rival services like Apple Music and Spotfiy.
According to the reports, the application for TikTok Music was made in the United States last May. It was stated that this service, like other music services, can allow users to listen to songs, share, see lyrics, create playlists and many more for certain fees.
Speaking to Insider, a lawyer stated that a company the size of ByteDance will only apply for a trademark for the products it is working on seriously, and stated that we are likely to see this service.
As it is known, TikTok is already a leading platform for discovering music and making songs popular. However, these new allegations show that the company may try to get ahead of rival companies by getting more involved in the music market.
