Short video service TikTok has announced that a series of changes will be made to the age restrictions of the platform. These include increasing the age at which users can broadcast live, as well as introducing broadcasts for an adult audience.

Added new live broadcast tools

Currently, any TikTok user over the age of 16 with at least 1,000 subscribers can go live. Starting November 23, the live streams feature will only be available to users over the age of 18. Live streams are currently available in the “For You” tab and in a separate stream. In addition, users who broadcast live will be able to put a mark on the screen, thus indicating that the content they create is intended for an adult audience.

Along with that, TikTok also announced new tools for content creators hosting live streams. First, creators will be able to connect up to five guests to the broadcast using different effects. Also, TikTok has announced new tools for live streaming on the platform. For example, the platform has updated the keyword filtering feature for live streams.
