TikTok, the most popular social media platform of recent times, is following a new path. The company held a ‘mini-games’ event that can be played on the platform and where it is possible to explore with the videos of the content producers. TikTok approved this decision as a result of its negotiations a few weeks ago for mobile game support.

TikTok meets with new game developers

Social media giant TikTok announced that it will first enter a gaming industry in partnership with Zynga in November to use its power in the gaming industry. After the announcement, he stated that he wanted to expand to HTML5 games. The two companies later teamed up to launch a TikTok-exclusive title, ‘Disco Loco 3D’.

Following the steps it took, TikTok announced that it was in talks with other game makers for similar agreements. Game developers include Vodoo, Nitro Games, FRVR, Aim Lab and Lotem. He also said that a bigger game is coming.

Allegedly, if successful, it will be possible to see the company as an ordinary mobile game on Apple and Google’s app stores. According to the news, it will be possible to see a list of domestic mini-games while streaming videos on the platform.

At the same time, creators can add optional links along with hashtags, description, location and more, on the last screen before going live. For example, manufacturers may link to other apps such as BuzzFeed, Quizlet’s quizzes, Breathwork’s breathing exercises, and Rotten Tomato’s ratings.

At the stage in the screenshot, when a creator posts a link to one of the new games, the resulting video includes their username as a link above it. Users can enter the game from that section. Here are the HTML5 game titles at the event:

  • Basketball FRVR (by FRVR)
  • Tap the Difference (by Lotem)
  • Peek a Who (by Nitro)
  • Pride Run (by Voodoo)
  • Influencer Run (by Voodoo)
  • Space Destroyer (by Nitro)
  • Mr. Aim Lab’s Nightmare (by Aims Labs)

TikTok has not officially announced the mobile game event. However, a spokesperson confirmed that the effort was put to the test in global markets a few weeks ago. At the same time, the spokesperson made the following statements:

We are always looking for ways to enrich our platform and regularly test new features and integrations that add value to our community. We are currently investigating bringing HTML5 gaming to TikTok through integrations with third-party game developers and studios.
