TikTok seems determined to no longer remain a social media platform for sharing ultra-short videos and is starting to allow videos up to 10 minutes in length. TikTok could be a serious competitor to YouTube, allowing for long-term video content sharing.
Several popular social media platforms have consistently made use of TikTok’s methodologies that primarily involve delivering ultra-short videos to keep users entertained and addicted. While the major platforms have developed Reels, Shorts and Spotlight, TikTok seems to be heading in the opposite direction. The platform, which became famous for short videos and clips, is now gradually increasing the maximum video length allowed on the platform.
TikTok said in a statement, “We’re always thinking about new ways to add value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience. Last year, we gave our community more time to have fun and create on TikTok by offering longer videos. Today, around the world “We’re starting to roll out the ability to upload videos of up to 10 minutes, which we hope will open up even more creative possibilities to our creators around the world, and we’re very excited.”
