According to the latest leaked news, TikTok is entering the mobile gaming business by following Netflix. Sources say this new feature is being tested in Vietnam. With this move, TikTok aims to increase its revenue and allow its billions of active users to spend more time inside its app.
This move by TikTok is similar to Netflix’s initiative for mobile games for customers. But the transition to the gaming world isn’t nearly as urgent for TikTok as it is for Netflix, which has lost members to rival services like Disney. Therefore, it is better not to wait for TikTok games to appear in a short time.
Vietnam was chosen as the testing ground because 70% of its citizens are under the age of 35 and this age range is TikTok’s target audience. Sources say that the games may also come to other southeast Asian countries.
The games use HTML5 technology, so if TikTok wants, they can be played on both mobile phones and desktop computers.
