TikTok has raised the bar one click to bring entertainment and creativity together and has become the official partner of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, one of the most prestigious festivals in the world.

From creative effects to longer videos and communities like #filmtok, which has garnered over 4 billion views from around the world, TikTok continues to innovate and develop new ways for the community to have fun and use their creativity. In this context, the platform; Ahead of the festival, it launched #TikTokShortFilm, a global competition to inspire creativity and support emerging talent.

As part of the competition, content producers will be able to share their short films with the TikTok community as of March 15, 2022. As veteran or new filmmakers share their stories with the rest of the world in a way they’ve never experienced; They will be able to showcase their cinematography skills through TikTok’s tools and effects.

Three people selected by the jury will win the cash prize and have the chance to attend the Cannes Film Festival in May. Original submissions will be judged in three categories: Grand Prix, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing. Applications will be accepted until April 8, 2022 and winners will be announced at the end of April.

This partnership with the Cannes Film Festival, which was launched to develop cinema, broaden the profile of the film industry worldwide and highlight its importance, will bring together content producers and cinematographers from around the world.

For several years now, the Cannes Film Festival has been reaching a new generation of movie buffs by offering the opportunity to experience the Festival through our ‘3 Days in Cannes’ programme. Part of our desire to diversify the audience, we look forward to sharing the most exciting and inspiring moments of the Festival and seeing the Festival reimagined through the eyes of the TikTok creators and community. We look forward to exploring all this with great enthusiasm and curiosity.”
