AirTag, the lost and found device that Apple introduced last year, has deviated from its intended use recently. Device used for purposes such as human tracking; it can detect the exact position of any object with the UWB chip. However, considering its concept, we can say that it is a useful product for finding lost items.

Items worth 10 thousand dollars stolen with AirTag were found

AirTag, which has been on the agenda recently with the news that it has been used for very different purposes than its concept, came up with a pleasing development this time. The tracking device helped locate a photographer’s $10,000 item stolen from his car. Photographer

Graham Tait was on vacation in South Australia earlier this month, while on vacation in South Australia, valuables such as a $10,000 laptop, Sony camera, GoPro and wallet were found in his car. He realized that his belongings had been stolen.

Tait, who bought a few AirTags for situations such as theft and loss and attached them to his important belongings, found the device as if the thieves had put it by hand, since it was not noticed. Upon this, the photographer contacted the police without wasting time and took back his stolen belongings in full.

Apart from that, AirTag is currently on the agenda with false reporting issues. In other words, although the person has never been followed, they can receive false notifications that there is an AirTag nearby. This causes people to feel unnecessarily worried that they are being followed. Of course, let’s also point out that this feeling is caused by the unwanted follow-up events that we have been encountering recently.

So what do you think about this issue? What is your opinion about AirTag? Do not forget to share it with us in the comments section or on the SDN Forum.
