In 2020, a lot of allegations were written and drawn about Jack Ma, who had withdrawn from public life and was never seen. Allegations of the dead or missing of Alibaba’s founder were also circulating. However, according to the latest news, Alibaba founder Jack Ma is alive.

Alibaba founder alive! So where did he appear?

In fact, it all started with the surprise postponement of the financial payments company Ant Group, a subsidiary of the e-commerce giant, which was expected to raise approximately $ 35 billion in funding. Upon this development, Jack Ma held a meeting with the officials of the China Securities Regulatory Commission. After this meeting, which took place behind closed doors, no one has seen the Chinese billionaire since that day.

However, the latest information has changed this opinion. Jack Ma reappeared in a math competition sponsored by Alibaba. According to the South China Morning Post, Ma gave his first lecture at the University of Tokyo last week. “He is alive and happy,” said Michael Evans, chairman of Alibaba Group. It was revealed at an Alibaba event just days after his words.

Bloomberg reported that Ma took part in the finale of the Alibaba Global Mathematics Challenge, held in Hangzhou, the same city as Alibaba’s headquarters, on Saturday. The famous billionaire is now said to be teaching sustainable agriculture and food production at the University of Tokyo. According to Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post, Jack Ma entered his first lecture at the institution on June 12.

life of Jack Ma

Ma was born as Yun Ma in 1964 in Hangzhou, southeast China. He had an older brother and a younger sister. At the age of 12, he became interested in learning English and began to tour the city as a guide for tourists visiting hotels in Hangzhou. After eight years of unpaid work, Ma became pen pals with an Australian family and visited the country at the family’s invitation. These activities made Ma more sensitive to the outside world.

In his youth, Ma received rejections from many job applications. He was the only one not admitted to the KFC branch in his home city, where 23 out of 24 applicants were recruited. He failed the university entrance exam twice. He graduated from the Hangzhou Teachers Institute’s English language department in 1988 and started working as a teacher at a local university. Ma, who had no interest in computers and the internet until his visit to Seattle, where he went to work as a translator for Chinese companies in 1995, realized the importance of the internet and turned to internet ventures when he returned to his country.

Jack Ma founded Alibaba in April 1999 with 17 of his friends, after getting acquainted with the internet and doing several commercial trials, including the website China Pages. The company achieved great success in a short time and received investments from companies such as SoftBank and Goldman Sachs. In 2003, he founded the eBay-like shopping site Taobao. Seeing the development of Taobao, eBay made an offer to buy the company, but Ma turned it down.
