According to the news of PCGames, a new program unlocks all hashrate capacity by changing the BIOS of Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards.
Created by a developer named Sergei, this tool will allow miners to enjoy unlimited performance, even if it makes the graphics card unusable for games.
With this change, it was stated that the mining capacity of the RTX 3080 Ti could increase by 115 MH/s.
Miners also have to install the graphics drivers installed by the developer.
Nvidia introduced its Light Hash Rate (LHR) technology last May, which makes it possible to limit the hash rate of some GPUs. With this technology, the GPU will automatically halve the hash rate if it starts mining Eth.
This measure was intended to prevent Ethereum miners from consuming GPUs, thus causing severe shortages and skyrocketing prices. Thus, GPUs have become significantly less profitable for miners and gamers can breathe a sigh of relief.
However, Nvidia blocked the release of the new feature, with the accidental release of the beta driver that unlocked the full potential of nerfed graphics cards.
The chip giant has decided to give LHR a second chance with an updated hashrate limiter. However, this effort seems to have been in vain for now.
