Ola GG, the regionally focused partner of Yield Guild Games (YGG) behind decentralized gaming startup and metaverse coin YGG, has raised $8 million to expand its play to earn platform in Spanish markets. Here are the details…
This metaverse coin received investment
Ola GG said in a statement that the seed funding round includes investments from Galaxy Interactive, BITKRAFT and Arca, among others. The firm said it serves as a “region-focused subDAO” and “an extension of the main YGG DAO.” However, Ola GG operates independently from a legal point of view. Ola GG said the funds will be used to generate income-generating NFTs and create Spanish educational content. Proceeds will also be used to expand adoption of games earned by playing in the US, Latin America and Spain. The following statements were used in a statement:
The Spanish market has many similarities to the Southeast Asian market where YGG was born. With so many people living below the poverty line and without access to quality education, we see an equally strong appetite for Play-to-Earn Blockchain games and with it the adoption of cryptocurrencies,” said Ola GG co-founder Clara Bullrich.
P2E games continue to gain momentum
Bullrich, partner of international multi-family office Alvarium Investments, announced Ola GG as well as a public liquidity miner He founded his company, Liquid Meta, together with Nicolás del Pino, one of the co-founders. Del Pino also served as a trading partner on Bitex.la, a Latin American crypto exchange, in the past.
Currently, Ola GG’s joint rewards program has 3,000 scholarship players in which the guild retains 30 percent of the winnings and does not require upfront compensation. Ola GG does allow its members to play Axie Infinity and CyBall, though it plans to eventually support Genopets, Karmaverse, and StarSharks, among other NFT titles. As we have also reported as Kriptokoin.com, many young people in Latin American countries such as Venezuela make a living for their families by playing Axie Infinity. According to Ola GG, there are 230 million monthly active players in the Spanish-speaking market.
