A new screenshot shared by Jane Manchun Wong shows how edited tweets will appear to other users on the Twitter website. Below the tweeted content, next to the word “Edited”, there is also a pencil icon so you can tell it’s not the original tweet. Wong didn’t provide further details on this, so we don’t know yet if it’s possible to click on “Edited” and see the post’s history.

We’ve known since early April that Twitter has been working on providing a tweet editing option, but this feature has We thought it was still a long way off from spreading to Twitter users. How the feature will work is still a mystery, but more details continue to leak. For example, in mid-April, Alessandro Paluzzi also showed some screenshots of the new editing feature after some reverse engineering.

Once the feature is made more granular and arrives for Twitter Blue users, it can be tested in a more real-world environment to see how it could be abused. After a little more tweaking, Twitter may finally feel ready to roll out this feature to all of its users.
