Lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes directly between the Sun and the Moon. Our satellite, which cannot benefit from the sun’s rays during this period, is trapped in the darkness for a while. Although we often see eclipses involving only certain parts of the Moon, we do not see the total lunar eclipses that took place last weekend very often.
Images of the lunar eclipse from space!
The last total lunar eclipse was best viewed from the Americas. It was possible to enjoy this moment from parts of Africa and Europe as well. So how would this beautiful image be seen from space? An astronaut on the International Space Station (ISS) answered this question.
An astronaut aboard the International Space Station (ISS) has managed to photograph the spectacular view of the lunar eclipse that took place yesterday. Samantha Cristoforetti, who recently started on the ISS, shared a few photos of the moon from the space facility in orbit around Earth.
European Space Agency astronaut Cristoforetti arrived at the space station on April 26 to complete his six-month mission. Alongside Cristoforetti on the trip were NASA astronauts Kjell Lindgren, Bob Hines, and Jessica Watkins aboard the SpaceX Crew-4.
Four astronauts, along with three others on the station, scientifically in microgravity conditions They will conduct research, maintain the orbital outpost, and spacewalk for various upgrades. Astronauts will also support spacecraft arrivals and departures during this time.
The next total lunar eclipse will occur on November 8, 2022 and will be visible in the US and parts of Asia. After this day, we will have to wait for a long time for a total lunar eclipse. Because the closest predicted date for the next total lunar eclipse is May 2025.
