Satellite images of the cities in the earthquake zone have been updated in the map application called Atlas, implemented by the General Directorate of Maps (HGM) of the Ministry of National Defense. The extent of the destruction is clearly evident in the new images.
It is seen that many houses were destroyed in Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman. Especially in Antakya, very few intact houses can be seen. As we know from the images taken from the ground, the houses whose roofs are visible on the satellite are no longer inhabitable. On the other hand, we can see the places where tents are set up in satellite images. We can say that the number of tents is less than the number of houses.
