The aircraft with the largest wingspan ever built, built to carry rockets and supersonic aircraft at the same time, successfully completed its 5th test flight, marking a new milestone in aviation history. The carrier plane, called Stratolaunch, rose to an altitude of 6,858 meters during the flight test in the Mojave Desert and successfully landed after almost 5 hours of flight.
Stratolaunch Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Dr. Zachary Krevor said, “Today’s successful flight is an important milestone for carrier aircraft. I am proud of my team for the quality integration work that has taken place since our last test flight.” , also heralded that Stratolaunch’s first hypersonic flight test is planned for 2023.
