NTDev, which makes use of the GPU RAM Drive tool and a trimmed version of Windows 11 called “Tiny 11” developed by itself for the new project, states that users can easily create a RAM disk in VGA memory. However, let us remind you that Windows 11 still needs a standard memory to run on GPU memory.
Therefore, we can say that this modding allows users with low systems to reach a much higher data transfer rate. At this point, NTDev achieved speeds of 2GB/s read and 2.5GB/s write, which is on par with PCIe 3.0 NVMe drives. It should also be noted that the speeds obtained will differ according to higher GPUs. As a matter of fact, the RTX 3050 mobile, which is the entry model of the Ampere series, comes with a 128-bit memory bus and 14 Gbps memories.
