Things ChatGPT will never do (or refuse to do)

Since ChatGPT came into our lives, we have been trying to take full advantage of all its blessings. But ChatGPT doesn't (or can't) do all your requests. Here's a list of things the chatbot refuses to do or fail to do.

Even as ChatGPT gets smarter than it is now, it will refuse to assist you with some issues. This is because OpenAI has made several provisions that ensure you cannot use ChatGPT for malicious activities.

Productive artificial intelligence products currently available can also make some mistakes. And too much… Some, like some of Google Bard’s blunders, can be costly. This means that you should not always trust ChatGPT. And always ask for references and links that you can check yourself.

Because ChatGPT’s accuracy issue will have to pass for a while until it is resolved. But as long as you know ChatGPT can make things up, that shouldn’t be a problem. Now that we’ve covered ChatGPT’s biggest issue, let’s take a look at some of the issues ChatGPT refuses to help with…

1. ChatGPT cannot access up-to-date internet data

The biggest problem with the free version of ChatGPT is that it is not connected to the internet. Of course, you reach him using the internet and get your question over the internet. However, ChatGPT cannot access data after September 2021.

However, this is not an obstacle. Because we decided to try ChatGPT to find sneaker models in various criteria. The chatbot was able to seamlessly show us a “best of” list that matched the features we gave it. He also listed prices and provided YouTube links for us to check out the models.

But the prices he gave us are very different from the prices in 2023. That’s why you better not think about buying the shoe models that came out in 2022 and 2023 by relying on the boots by looking here. Still, he managed to help us somehow.

But if you are using ChatGPT Plus, you can access up-to-date data on the internet via Bing Search Engine. We expect the free option to be used in a similar way in the future.

2. ChatGPT cannot predict the future

Given the enormous amount of data at the disposal of prolific AIs, you might think they can predict the future. But this is unfortunately not possible. At least for the free version of ChatGPT… It’s not because it can’t access up-to-date data.

First of all, such a task can be resource-intensive. Second, launching a generative AI model that can do this could have dangerous consequences. Let’s just say you shouldn’t expect future ChatGPT models to help you with this. Unless of course you create one yourself.

3. ChatGPT does not provide private information

OpenAI probably also infringed copyrights when collecting data from the internet to feed ChatGPT. What’s more, early versions of the chatbot did not have privacy controls, meaning all your data would end up on the servers.

Then, by contrast, OpenAI placed rules in ChatGPT that would prevent private information about other people from being given to others. You cannot access Jeff Bezos’ health records using ChatGPT. Never expect other chatbots to do the same.

ChatGPT will never help you commit crimes

If you think ChatGPT would be the perfect accomplice, you are very wrong. Because OpenAI has added protection measures to the chatbot to prevent this from happening. That will never change as smarter productive AI models emerge.

In fact, you’ll be even less likely to dodge future versions of ChatGPT. Currently, ChatGPT can help illegal activities if you ask the right questions. For example, it helps you to offer sites where copyrighted content can be downloaded for free, or to create malware that is too powerful for antivirus software to detect.

So in short, it’s all about how good and persuasive the referrals are.
