The Danish Government, though keeping the possibility of a resumption in the fall, has announced that it will no longer invite vaccinations to its citizens as of 15 May.
The Danish Ministry of Health considers the high level of immunity to be achieved and is of the opinion that the virus is no longer a critical threat and is under control. It is stated that 81 percent of Denmark’s 5.8 million citizens, or four out of five people, are fully vaccinated.
Danish Minister of Health Bolette Søborg, “We plan to reopen the vaccination program in the autumn. In the meantime, we will determine who will be vaccinated and which vaccines will be used.”
Denmark recognizes that people are fully vaccinated with two doses of the vaccine. Despite increasing cases in February, the country had removed COVID from being a “critical threat” and lifted all pandemic restrictions.
