There is a surprise departure from the team of Yuga Labs, a blockchain technology company that develops NFT coin products. Founding name Wylie Aronow announced that she will be taking leave from the project for a while due to health reasons.

Yuga Labs co-founder takes leave due to health concerns

Wylie Aronow, co-founder of Yuga Labs, the company behind Apecoin (APT), announced on Twitter that he has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and is taking a temporary leave to seek treatment. In a Twitter post to his 144,900 followers on January 28, Aronow said the decision to take the difficult step was made after being diagnosed with heart failure after experiencing numerous symptoms over the past few months.

The NFT entrepreneur said that while his “mild” symptoms still allowed him to live a “mostly normal life”, his condition deteriorated and he was putting his job on the back burner. The Yuga Labs co-founder did not give a date when he hoped to fully recover and return to his day job.

“A few days ago my doctor told me I have congestive heart failure,” Aronow wrote. The symptoms started suddenly last year, and I had delayed treatments so I could continue working. But after the test, my doctor called and asked me to radically change my life,” he wrote.

He will remain as a board member and strategic advisor.

Aranow confirmed that he will remain a board member and strategic advisor. Nor is his latest medical diagnosis the first to put Aranow out of work. The Yuga Labs co-founder revealed that in his twenties, he was dealing with a chronic illness that prevented him from advancing in his career. When he finally recovered and founded Yuga Labs, there was no looking back:

When I was healed and started Yuga, I didn’t want to waste a second chance in life. I pushed myself beyond my limits. I worked 12 hours a day, almost every day. I had to listen to the advice of everyone around me and seek balance.

My goals now are to get the best medical treatment I can get and get well.

NFT Coin project welcomes serious game developer

Aronow also expressed her excitement at working with Daniel Alegre, the company’s new CEO, former president and COO of Activision Blizzard. Alegre, which we refer to as Kriptokoin.com, has been appointed as the CEO of Yuga Labs as of the first half of 2023.

Alegre has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Activision Blizzard, overseeing the international delivery and commercialization of franchises such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo, Overwatch and Candy Crush since the start of 2020. Alegre also spent more than 16. He spent several years there during his career at Google, where he was the company’s Head of Global and Strategic Partnerships, Head of Shopping and Payments, and Head of Asia Pacific and Latin America.

While Aronow didn’t provide any details on what he will currently do as a strategic advisor, he recently announced on November 8 that he would propose a new model for NFT creator royalties.

Among the most notable NFT coin projects developed by the company are CryptoPunks, BAYC, MeeBits and Othersidemeta.
