Rich Benoit, one of Youtube’s most creative and boundary car mechanic, took a scrapped Tesla model S, and turned it into a phenomenon.
So how did this car come out of the water, a V8 engine was fit into it, and how did it finally turned to the road?
How did the story begin?
You know, you know, Rich Rebuilds, Youtube channel mostly damaged or thrown Tesla’ları back to life. Tesla, which is a matter of our content, is slightly different from others: A Tesla Model S.
The car was probably underwater in a flood disaster and the battery system had become completely unusable. Many people saw this vehicle as scrap, but for Rich, it was only the beginning.
Transformation from electric car to V8 monster
Although Tesla’s electric motors and battery technology has been quite advanced, Rich decided to follow a different path in this project: wearing a classic American V8 engine!
Rich preferred the 6.2L LS3 V8 engine for this project. 2011 Chevrolet used a high -performance engine from SS.
The V8 has chosen a 6 -speed manual transmission to transfer the power of the V8 to Art wheels. This was quite different from Tesla’s original single -speed electric system!
There is no exhaust in the electric vehicle, but it was in this. Now, a special exhaust system is designed because it burns fuel. Conclusion: A Tesla that works with classic V8 noise!
The renewed was not the only engine.
From the outside, this car still appears to be a Tesla model, but it didn’t say that much. Rich protected the original indicator panel and the touch screen, but completely changed motor control systems.
Although the luxury interior is largely preserved, the gear lever and the clutch pedal were added and driving experience differed. With the addition of the engine, the usual vehicle’s load center has also changed, and therefore the suspension settings were re -made.
Transformation has attracted great attention in the automotive world.
The team revealed the vehicle to be exhibited at the Sema Show in Las Vegas. You claim that the transformation of the electric vehicle into an internal combustion engine has brought a different perspective to the automotive section.
Tesla’s current spare module and service restrictions caused the restriction of the freedom of repairing or replacing users as they wish.
As a result, Rich Rebuilds’s V8 -engine Tesla Model S project shows that the borders can be forced and implemented in the automotive world.
