Both M4 Max and M3 ultra processor Mac Studio is quite powerful. What if you want to limit this power a little? Apple’s support for power modes reveals that the new Mac Studio offers low power mode support. Why would you like to use low power mode? Because according to Apple, it works two. The first; It reduces fan noise. If you work in a quiet environment, you don’t want the high fan sound to be heard. Latter; If your Mac is always open, power consumption is reduced.
Interestingly, however, Mac Studio does not support high power mode. The Apple describes the feature as follows: High power mode allows fans to work at higher speeds. Additional cooling capacity can provide the system to provide higher performance in very intensive workloads. When the high power mode is enabled, you can hear the additional fan sound.
This seems to be an excellent feature that can be brought to Mac Studio, but interestingly, it is not on the list of supported devices. High power mode can be used on various MacBook Pro models and even on the M4 Mac Mini. However, it cannot be used in the new Mac Studio.
