Air pollution, one of the biggest and most dangerous problems of our age, causes the death of more than 8 million people every year. Air pollution, mainly caused by fossil fuels, causes people to struggle with lung cancer, heart attack and heart diseases due to particles called PM2.5.
Researchers at Monash University in Australia, for the first time in the world, investigated how serious the air pollution on our planet has reached. Unfortunately, the results are very bad.
The world has reached the point of no return
Researchers at Monash University, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), rolled up their sleeves to find out how much air pollution is on our planet. Analyzing the data collected from 5,446 observation devices used to measure air pollution and located in 65 countries with machine learning, the experts determined that the air pollution of the countries mainly in the USA, Europe and Asia has increased so much that it seriously harms the health of individuals.
However, the most striking point of the research was that all observing devices found in almost every part of the world, except for the poles, gave high results. Unfortunately, this shows that there is no healthy land left on our planet to live on.
Fires also increase air pollution
The researchers also found that in addition to fossil fuels, forest and other types of fires also significantly increase air pollution. Stating that in addition to the pollution created by the burning trees, the destroyed forests are also insufficient to correct this problem, the experts stated that the Earth is now living its last hours. According to the findings, the rate of air pollution has increased so much that the measures to be taken now can only slow down this situation.
The World Health Organization, on the other hand, signaled that PM2.5, which is a mixture of nitrate, carbon, sulfate and arsenic emitted into the air around the world, may cause more deaths in the coming years.
