One of the rarest Porsches ever built will go up for auction next month. The 911 Carrera RSR 3.8 “Strassenversion”, which is expected to fetch a price between 2 and 2.5 million dollars, is one of only two versions available.
It has become an even rarer piece as it has only 10km on it and retains its original factory finish. However, it has been in a warehouse in Italy for decades, so it is very dirty.
The RSR was produced as an ultra-high performance model aimed at private racing teams. Only 50 units of this model, which produces 325-350 hp with its 3.8-liter engine, were produced. Ordered by the first owner, the jacks come with extensive custom equipment, including a passenger seat and dual racing engines.
The vehicle, with its red leather interior design and metallic silver exterior color, has never been repaired. After its special construction in 1993, it was delivered to its first owner and remained in storage for more than 30 years.
The 911 Carrera RSR will be auctioned in Abu Dhabi on November 25, just ahead of the F1 races. With its very low mileage, pristine design and one of only two road-going examples, he expects bids to reach up to $2.5 million.
