A recent study confirmed that meme coin projects are still very popular in the US, with their position among the most sought-after digital assets online. Here are the cryptocurrencies in question…

Dogecoin tops the list of most wanted

Dogecoin (DOGE), a dog-themed meme coin, according to analysis of Google Trends data conducted by crypto experts at Coin Insider became the most sought-after token in 23 states, including Illinois, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Florida. Meanwhile, DOGE’s biggest competitor, Shiba Inu (SHIB), ranks fourth as the most sought-after altcoin among users in seven states, including New York, Texas, California, and Nevada. While this is the case for

meme coin projects, Bitcoin is the second most sought-after cryptocurrency. Ethereum (ETH) is the third most searched altcoin by users in 8 US states, while Cardano (ADA) and Lithium Coin (LITH) respectively were the most popular search terms in just one state. A Coin Insider spokesperson comments on the findings:

This study offers an incredible insight into where these investments are coming from across the US, with Dogecoin overtaking Bitcoin as the most popular cryptocurrency on the internet. With more than 6,500 cryptocurrencies available worldwide, it’s fascinating to see that the most undervalued currencies are still the most sought after.”

Meme shows the effect of advertising around coin projects

As we previously reported as Kriptokoin.com, Dogecoin was ranked 23rd and SHIB 7th in November in 30 states in the USA. In terms of popularity over the months, the situation has largely remained the same, given the latest data. The analysis surpasses leading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have been prominent in this space for years as more meme coin projects are launched.

According to the analysis, advertisements around meme coin projects are showing their effect. Both Bitcoin and Ethereum currently rank higher than DOGE and SHIB, indicating that interest in such cryptocurrencies is still very high. Currently, the price of Dogecoin is on the rise after its biggest backer, Elon Musk, has recently become the biggest Twitter shareholder.
