Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro were expected to be introduced on December 1, that is, yesterday. However, the company delayed the launch in a last-minute announcement. The reason for the delay is not yet known; simply “We regret to report that the introduction of the new Mi 13 has been delayed. We will notify you as soon as the new release date is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and support.”
Estimates are that the postponement is to honor former Chinese President Jiang Zemin, who passed away.
Now the question in mind is when the launch will take place. The incoming statements do not give any clue about a new date. But if we assume that the delay is due to the reason we mentioned above, we can guess that we will not wait too long for the 13 series to appear. Therefore, the possibility of introducing the Xiaomi 13 series before the end of the year still seems strong.
Although the 13 series has been delayed, some teasers have surfaced from Xiaomi itself. If we look at these teasers, we can understand that the Xiaomi 13 Pro has a 1-inch sensor for its primary camera and both Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will use 75mm telephoto cameras.
Both phones are expected to come with 128GB of storage and Android 13. We also almost certainly know that the phones will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
