The iPhone X, the world’s first iPhone model with USB-C port, was recently auctioned on eBay. The iPhone X with USB-C, modded by Ken Pillonel, who works in the field of Robotics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, finally found its buyer.

Software and hardware developer Ken Pillonel ended the project he had been working on for a long time in early November and managed to design the world’s first Type-C input iPhone. Pillonel stated that the iPhone is fully functional and will continue to work if it is not disassembled in any way.
The developer, codenamed Kenny Pi, put the product up for sale on eBay shortly after announcing the modification. Stating that the product will not accept any responsibility in case of deletion or updating of any data in daily use, Pillonel announced that the product will remain on sale until November 11, 2021.
Finally, on November 4, 2021, the iPhone X, which received an offer of $ 84 thousand, officially became its new buyer as of November 11. Accordingly, the product was sold with an offer of 86 thousand dollars and the eBay page was also deleted.

“That’s it! I finally made the world’s first iPhone with a USB Type-C port. It supports charging and data transfers. My first goal was about getting the electronics to work. Then the next step was to reverse engineer the Apple C94 connector and make my own PCB with a female USB-C port.

Pillonel, who shared the project with his followers with a short video he published on YouTube, later showed step by step how he realized the project by publishing a detailed video. Thus, the world’s first and only USB-C port iPhone X went to its buyer with an offer of 86 thousand dollars.
