TCG Anadolu, which was launched as a project in 2015, was launched in May 2019 and after the latest developments, tests on the sea began in June 2022.
The ship, which was produced to provide the transfer of Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles by sea, is a first in the world in this respect.
TCG Anadolu will be used for SİHAs in the same way that aircraft carriers can be used to take aircraft to long distances:
TCG Anadolu will be handed over to the Naval Forces Command by the Presidency of Defense Industry, with a ceremony to be held on April 10, 2023, and will begin its duty.
According to AA’s report, 131 subcontractors were involved in the development process of the TCG Anadolu project, while universities and R&D centers also provided support. The locality rate of the ship is at the level of 70%.
The models of SİHAs that will land and take off on TCG Anadolu are as follows; Bayraktar TB3, Bayraktar KIZILELMA and HÜRJET Light Attack Aircraft.
Of course, issues such as how much foreign dependency TCG Anadolu has in terms of software and how many personnel will work are also a matter of curiosity. We hope to get answers to some of these questions at the ceremony to be held.
