The World Could Turn into Hell for Humanity in 2500

An article prepared by 13 scientists in the USA revealed how difficult it would be for people to live on Earth if global warming could not be prevented. Scientists have stated that when we come to the year 2500, people will have to struggle to survive on Earth.

There are dozens of indicators showing the potential dimensions of climate change by 2100, such as increasing greenhouse gas levels, temperatures and sea levels. For example, according to the Paris Agreement, we need to limit global warming worldwide, and if all the rules are followed, it’s possible that by the end of this century the air temperature will be 2 degrees Celsius lower than in the pre-industrial era.

By evaluating dozens of reports published so far, US scientists were able to calculate the effects of global warming in the longer term. This research, led by Christopher Lyon, revealed that by the year 2500, Earth will become an extremely uninhabitable place for humans.

The Amazon Basin will become a barren place in the coming years

The researchers, who examined the reports published in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) since 1990, emphasized that even if the targets of the Paris Agreement are realized, warming will not stop in 2100, so much longer-term plans should be made instead of just an 80-year plan.

In the report published in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, researchers stated that even if country leaders fulfill their promises, the Earth’s temperature will warm by 2.7 degrees Celsius by 2100, while this warming will bring unprecedented forest fires, droughts, floods and high temperatures. .

Wanting to see what conditions the descendants of people living on Earth currently live in over the next few centuries, scientists modeled the vegetation distribution, heat stress, and growing conditions to reveal a long-term scenario.

Stating that the temperatures continue to increase after 2100 in the resulting model, the researchers stated that in this scenario, the Amazon Basin, known for its ecosystem richness, will become barren, and the air temperatures in the tropics will reach deadly degrees for humans.

In the published article, it was also stated that the warming and thus expanding ocean waters will mix with each other, and therefore there will be a significant increase in sea levels. Researchers also shared drawings of how places such as the Amazon and the Indian Peninsula will look in the future, according to this scenario.
