As fun, informative, and at times scary, a conversation with an AI chatbot is still just text on the screen. At least for now. What if you could actually talk to a virtual assistant? Meet Call Annie, the ChatGPT powered “AI friend” app.
There is still “a little” time before we see artificial intelligence robots before us. However, it is a fact that AI bots are developing very quickly. The Call Annie app is an app that takes this one step further, and what it does is turn ChatGPT into a friend you can see right in front of you.
Call Annie is accessible on the web, but if you want the full experience, you’ll need to download the iOS app. Also, there is a phone number. They have also attached it to their website.
The Call Annie app, which can be downloaded for free from the App Store, features a virtual female avatar whose face was created using Midjourney. When you tap the “Call Annie” button in the app, Annie starts chatting with you. He will continue to answer your questions and respond to your requests as long as you want to chat. Not to be too much of an AI Doomer but I just had a FaceTime call with a near realtime ChatGPT-powered AI avatar and it was…surprisingly human.
