The way to play as Venom in Spider-Man 2 has been discovered!

Spider-Man 2 players showed off their creativity once again by discovering a new exploit that allows them to play as Venom in the game. Moreover, this discovery occurred after Insomniac Games closed the previous vulnerability by quickly updating it.

To play as Venom in Spider-Man 2, you need to crash the game

While this new method gives players more freedom as Venom, there’s one major problem – you need to crash the game on purpose. This is naturally a risky move that is not recommended by the developers.

The resourceful community of gamers managed to find a workaround to play as Venom in Spider-Man 2 on PS5. Reddit user UnderTheHood788 shared details about the exploit, warning of potential spoilers for those who have not played or completed the game.

The exploit includes a specific cutscene (spoiler) where players switch to Peter Parker. When playing in Fidelity mode, you need to unplug the PS5 as soon as the screen goes dark during the transition. This should be done in Fidelity mode as it takes longer to process and gives players additional time to successfully exploit the exploit.

Players who reload the last save after the intentional crash find themselves in a mission titled “Don’t Be Scared” with no clear objective. According to the Reddit user, players need to go to an unidentified target mission or talon drone mission, wait a while, and the game will automatically switch them to Venom.

Once reloaded, players will find themselves out into the night as Venom and take on a variety of challenges, including crimes against hunters, flames, bandits, and even symbiotes. This exploit even allows players to engage in activities such as capturing bases.

While this newly discovered exploit for playing as Venom has many players excited, there is a general expectation that Insomniac Games will immediately address and update this exploit, similar to their response to the previous one. The gaming community is also acutely aware that vulnerabilities like these can disrupt the intended gaming experience and lead to unintended consequences.
