The technologies that were available in the first years of virtual dolls were very different from today’s technologies. Aware of this situation, virtual baby manufacturer Bandai Namco has announced a new tamagotchi model that you can wear as a smart watch. This smart watch, which does not have much functionality, allows you to carry your virtual baby on your arm and to take care of it at any time.
Introducing Tamagotchi Smart
Bandai Namco’s new smart watch is a little different from the watches we have introduced to you so far. For example, this smart watch cannot track sports activity. However, the engineers, who said that they should at least have a pedometer, added this feature to the smart watch. Also, if you want to wake up your virtual baby, just give a voice command. Making a statement at this point, the company states that the watch does not focus on understanding the sound, but starts working as soon as it hears the defined sound. On the other hand, let’s mention that this screen is touch-sensitive, so you can massage your virtual baby.
Content expansion layers called “TamaSma Cards” can be added externally to Tamagotchi Smart. It is not yet known exactly what these cards can offer, but a promotional video prepared by Bandai Namco reveals that the smart watch also allows for paired games and listening to music. In the meantime, it is not clear for now whether users can upload the music they want.

Bandai Namco has announced that its next-generation virtual baby will be released in November. Consumers will be able to have this smart watch in two color options, pink or blue. While the announced price of Tamagotchi Smart is $60, TamaSma Cards can be purchased for only $10.
