A new dark theme has appeared in the test version of Microsoft Edge (Canary). The difference from the theme available in the popular browser is that it changes colors from dark gray to “true black”. The first screenshots showing the difference between the old and new dark theme have landed on the internet.
Images shared by Twitter user Leopeva64 show that in the Canary version almost all interface elements, including the tabs, toolbar, favorites section and sidebar, have a completely black background.
Edge is improving day by day
Microsoft may offer both options at the same time so that users who prefer a darker tone can choose. However, it should be noted that there is no clear information on this subject. The Edge development team can also replace the existing dark theme with a darker theme. We’ll wait and see.
It should be noted that the difference between the two themes is especially evident on OLED screens. It’s unclear when the new dark theme will arrive in the stable version of Edge. Microsoft has also been testing the cryptocurrency wallet feature and AI-powered video scaling technology in the browser for a while.
