What will Apple offer with iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6?
Apple today released the third beta versions of the upcoming iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 updates for public beta testers. The public betas for iOS and iPadOS arrived just a day after Apple’s third beta for developers.
Those who register for Apple’s free beta testing program can see the new beta update by coming to the Software Update section from the Settings section on their phones and tablets. The third beta version can be activated by clicking on Beta Updates and selecting the iOS 16 Public Beta option.
While iOS 16.6 seems like a relatively minor update, Apple seems to be laying the groundwork for the launch of the previously announced iMessage Comm Key Authentication feature with this release. After the company, it will now turn more towards iOS 17.
As Apple prepares for the September launch of iOS 17, we will see that improvements on iOS 16 will now slow down. The company is also preparing to launch a new beta version of watchOS 9.6 to public beta testers. Apple Watch users will thus be able to update their smart watches in the near future.
