Stories, consisting of photos or videos that disappeared over a period of time, managed to become a popular feature, first on Snapchat and then on almost all social media platforms. Today, it has been announced that such a move will come from the popular messaging application Telegram.
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced that the “Stories” feature will come to the platform through the application. Durov added that the feature has been requested by users for years. According to the CEO, Telegram was initially against this feature because it was ubiquitous; but he wanted to take such a step by listening to his users.
Unlike other applications, the duration of the stories that will come in July can be controlled.
Users will be able to control who can see each of their stories. This can be done with options such as everyone, contacts, a few selected users or a list of close friends. Telegram stories will appear at the top of your chat list. Let’s add that you can hide the stories if you don’t want this.
In addition, options such as linking to stories, adding posts and tagging other people will be offered. In addition, the ability to take and share photos from both the front and rear camera, which we know from BeReal, will also be found in the stories.
Finally, we can say that the most striking part of the feature is that you can adjust the duration of the stories according to your taste. In this way, the duration of the stories can be adjusted to 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours or permanently, as in Instagram.
Telegram stories will be available to users early next month. Durov adds that while the feature is in the final testing phase, it will start a new era in Telegram. Although it is called the beginning of July, there is no definite date for the arrival of the feature.
