While the global economic crisis that started after the pandemic period deeply affected many sectors, there are signs of recovery, albeit slowly. However, the smartphone market has never recovered.

The smartphone market is at the bottom

While 272 million smartphones were sold in the second quarter of the year, there was a decrease of 6.6 percent. When first quarter sales are included, 522 million is reached. This figure is 13.3 percent lower than the same period last year. The first half of the year was the lowest in the last 10 years.

In the second quarter, Samsung sold 53.9 million units, while Apple sold 42 million iPhones. These two companies recorded declines in double digits. The champion of the market is Transsion. Transsion, the umbrella company of brands such as Tecno and Infinix, sold 25.1 million smartphones, increasing by 71.9 percent. Other Chinese brands also experienced significant gains.

The smartphone market is not expected to recover within the year. Starting next year, it will try to end the decline. It is estimated that there will be annual increases of 2-3 percent during this period.
