Samsung is reportedly bringing a 200MP main camera sensor to its upcoming flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra; That’s a big step up compared to the 108MP sensor found on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, according to a reliable source, the difference in photo size between the two cameras will not be much different.

Galaxy S23 Ultra’s photos will take up 20 to 40 MB of space

According to the details shared by Ice Universe, every image captured from the 200MP camera of the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a resolution of 12240 x 16320. For comparison, the 108MP sensor is capable of capturing images at up to 9000 x 12000 resolution and reveals photos with an average size of 14.21MB. The data by Ice Universe shows that one photo is 20.98MB in size and the second photo is 37.06MB in size.

According to Ice Universe, the difference between the photo sizes of the S22 Ultra and the S23 Ultra is lower than expected. However, of course, it is extremely difficult to talk about any relationship between photo size and photo quality. The company could possibly be using a compression technique without losing too much of the image quality.

On the other hand, Samsung is expected to use an accelerated version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the entire Galaxy S23 series. It is stated that the phones, which are expected to resemble the predecessor series in terms of design, improve the existing design. The release of the Galaxy S23 series will take place with the Unpacked event, which will be held on February 1.
