Using the same camera sensor for many years as of Pixel 3, Google changed the sensor with the Pixel 6 series it introduced in 2021. Starting to use Samsung components to a large extent with the Pixel 6 series, Google will follow a similar decision on its new generation devices.

Pixel 8 Pro may come with ISOCELL GN2 sensor

Known as a reliable source in the world of mobile technology, Ice Universe shared an important claim on Twitter. According to this claim, Pixel 8 Pro will be powered by ISOCELL GN2, Samsung’s largest camera sensor. The 1/1.12 inch sensor has a resolution of 50MP. Offering 1.4μm pixels, the product can offer high performance in low light by combining 4 pixels. Also, the sensor can capture 100MP images using the remosaic algorithm, but Google will probably not use this feature.

GN2, Samsung’s physically largest sensor; It also allows 8K@30fps, 4K@120fps and FHD@480fps video recordings. Consuming less energy with Staggerd HDR, GN2 seems to be a good decision for Pixel 8 Pro. Let’s see if Google will also use this sensor for the standard Pixel 8?
