There are numerous case materials, straps (bands) and size options for the Apple Watch, but the company keeps its device lineup in two size classes. This is allegedly going to change with the Apple Watch Series 8.
The first three generations of Apple Watch had case sizes of 38mm and 42mm, followed by the fourth and sixth generations with case sizes of 40mm and 44mm. Thanks to the screen that wraps around the edge of the case, Apple expanded the case size of the Apple Watch 7 a little more and offered two options, 41 mm and 45 mm.
47mm Apple Watch is coming
Despite the size changes, all Apple Watches are divided into large and small. This means that the strap bought for the 42mm Apple Watch Series 2 can be used on the 45mm Apple Watch Series 7. The Watch Series could replace this two-dimensional system with a larger third dimension. The lace leaked detail is that the screen of the new Apple Watch will be 1.99 inches.
That’s a 0.09-inch increase compared to the display of the latest Apple Watch model Series 7 available. This means that we can see a larger screen in a thinner case or the case size will increase proportionally to the screen size. It is claimed that the Apple Watch Series 8 may get a new design with straight edges to provide more space for the same case size screen.
Apple is expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 8 at its iPhone 14 event in September. We could see Apple Watch in three sizes, with a durable model option, new health metrics and better performance.
