WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging application, has introduced an upcoming new feature to users as part of the Android beta version. This new feature, which can be experienced by test users, allows a WhatsApp account to be used on 4 smartphones at the same time. Let’s take a closer look at this important innovation together.
WhatsApp released a feature called “Multi-Device” last year. This feature allowed users to use one WhatsApp account independently via a phone and a desktop or web version. In other words, even if the phone did not have an internet connection, the WhatsApp experience could be maintained over the desktop or web version. Here, the new feature greatly expands the scope of the Multi-Device feature.
One WhatsApp account can be used independently on all 4 smartphones!
The new feature, which appeared in the latest Android beta version of WhatsApp, allows one WhatsApp account to be connected to up to four devices. So technically, a WhatsApp account can now be used on 4 smartphones simultaneously and independently of each other. New devices added will be synced automatically so that the user will not miss any messages.
So how will the new feature be used?
- Step #1: Install WhatsApp on the second device and go to the home screen.
- Step #2: Tap on “Connect a device”.
- Step #3: Go to the main device and access the “Connected Devices” menu.
- Step #4: Tap “Connect device” on the main device.
- Step #5: Scan the QR code that appears on the second device on the main device.
That’s how easy it will be to use WhatsApp’s upcoming feature. The user will follow the same procedures when necessary and will connect the WhatsApp account for the third and fourth phone. However, there is one thing that should not be forgotten. Currently, this feature is only available in the beta version of WhatsApp. iPhone owners and those using the stable version of WhatsApp will wait until the feature is officially released.
