The ropes broke in Intel: the rise of AMD and ARM cannot be stopped

The microprocessor sector was the scene of significant changes in the last quarter of 2024. While Intel’s long -standing dominance has weakened, both AMD and ARM have strengthened its positions. The current giant is experiencing contraction in the market share.

AMD and ARM Growing rapidly

AMD’s share in the microprocessor cake rose from 21.6 percent to 22.1 percent in the previous quarter. This was supported by laptops and server processors with sales and showed that AMD’s success in these segments continues.

Similarly, thanks to ARM -based laptops, ARM’s share increased by half a point to 10.5 percent. Intel, who is still a market leader, has recorded its lowest share ever. With a market share of 67.4 percent, Intel decreased by 1.4 points compared to the previous quarter.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has been the best in the last 10 years!

Samsung made small changes with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but these changes had a significant impact.

Although the technology giant reached 68.1 percent in the desktop segment, the weakness in laptops and server sales adversely affected general performance. Research has also shown that the laptop market has grown 8.2 percent by overcoming expectations.

The desktop market also increased by 20 percent due to stock accumulation. Server shipments grew slightly below seasonal norms, 7 percent. Despite the loss of market share, Intel’s share price increased by 4 percent.

The latest figures emphasize that the competition in the microprocessor industry is increasing. The ongoing progress of AMD and ARM are challenging Intel’s leadership and seems to be further intensified in the coming years.
