Microsoft held an event in the USA today. The event, which was not broadcast on any platform, focused on Surface computers and artificial intelligence. The technology giant also shared important announcements about its operating system Windows.
One of these announcements was the new update to Windows 11. Microsoft announced that the new update, also known as 23H2, will be released on September 26. The update will bring many innovations, including artificial intelligence, to Windows 11 users.
Artificial intelligence assistant Copilot is coming!
Copilot, the artificial intelligence model that the company introduced months ago, will be added to Windows 11 with the new update. The model will integrate the functions we see in Bing Chat directly into the operating system. The assistant, which can be used as a sidebar, will have many functions such as controlling the settings on the computer, launching applications or directly answering your questions.
Copilot will be able to retrieve information from calendars, emails, documents and more services when the necessary permissions are given. It will also be able to make suggestions to users in applications such as Outlook. The technology giant says the model will be an “artificial intelligence companion” that users can use every day.
Major innovations are coming to Paint, including creating images from text:
Significant innovations will come to Paint, one of Windows’ popular applications, with the help of artificial intelligence. These previously leaked features will enable the removal of backgrounds in Paint. In addition, the layer feature, which allows multiple images to be processed on a draft, and the tool called “Cocreator”, which allows you to create images from text, will also come to the application.
Revamped File Explorer:
Microsoft is also giving File Explorer a more modern look. The renewed File Explorer will have a modern interface and feature larger icons. The new look will be more compatible with the design language of Windows 11.
RAR support, revamped volume mixer and more:
Apart from these, the new Windows update will also bring RAR and 7-zip support and a new volume mixer that allows you to control the volume of applications. The Photos application, improved with artificial intelligence, will also gain features such as blurring the background with a single click. You can access more than 150 features in the new update here.
