According to what was shared by Redmi on Weibo, the Redmi K60 series, called the ‘Performance Series’, will ‘focus on ultra-high performance’. Coming to the launch date, the company’s shares point to the first weeks of 2023 for the Redmi K60 series. However, with a surprise move, we can see that it was introduced before the end of 2022.
According to reports, the base model of the family, the Redmi K60, will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. However, Redmi K60 Pro will come with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, while Redmi K60e will come with Dimensity 8200. It is not yet known why Redmi prefers an older chipset for the Pro model.
According to the MIUI code base, Redmi K60 and K60 Pro will be available to users with Android 13-based MIUI 14. The K60e will ship with Android 12-based MIUI 13. This may be because the K60e is based on the canceled Xiaomi 11T. Finally, the Redmi K60 Pro is expected to launch in global markets as the Poco F5.
