The release date of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 is official: Here is the expected date

Confirming earlier rumors, Samsung has announced the date for its upcoming Unpacked 2023 event. The company recently confirmed that it will hold the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 27, 2023. The company’s next major launch event will take place in South Korea for the first time, and the company will unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 at the event.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be unveiled at the convention center COEX in Seoul, South Korea. According to TM Roh, President and Director of Samsung MX (Mobile eXperience), it offers the fascinating mix of past, present and future that defines Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Samsung also said that it has changed the direction of promoting its foldable phones. It plans to hold launch events in pop culture cities around the world that closely match the set theme of each event.

The new hinge reportedly has a waterdrop-like shape that allows the phones to be folded without any gaps between the two sides. It also makes the screen wrinkle less obvious. Both phones are said to have an IP58 rating for dust and water resistance. Both phones are expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor, similar to the Galaxy S23 series devices. Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also feature a large cover screen for higher productivity when the phone is closed.
