In other words, the devices in question have 2 GB more RAM than the iPhone 14 Pro models released last year. The upgraded RAM, together with the new A17 Pro chip, will make a significant contribution to overall system performance, especially for multitasking.
Again Xcode gave it away
The recently released Xcode 15 Release Candidate contains files confirming that the lower-end iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models are equipped with 6 GB of RAM, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models have 8 GB of RAM.
In the light of all this information, we have a table as follows:
Previous RAM amounts:
- iPhone 14: 6GB
- iPhone 14 Plus: 6 GB
- iPhone 14 Pro: 6 GB
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 6 GB
New RAM amounts:
- iPhone 15: 6GB
- iPhone 15 Plus: 6 GB
- iPhone 15 Pro: 8 GB
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: 8 GB
In the meantime, let us remind you that the same Xcode files accurately reflect the RAM amounts in last year’s iPhone 14 models and several previous iPhone generations. We do not yet know the type of RAM in the iPhone 15 models. We will learn this after the devices are disassembled.
