When sending a message or chat thread to someone on Google Messages, a new menu will appear at the bottom. Optimized for chat (HD) and Original quality (HD+) option will be available. The first option will reduce the quality of the photo so it can be sent faster. The second option will send the original image file but the transfer will be slow and consume more from the internet. Whichever option you choose, the relevant logo (HD or HD+) will appear above the photo.Google Messages will allow higher quality photo sharing than WhatsApp by offering the HD + option. However, since WhatsApp usage is more common, it is debatable how important this is. Meanwhile, Apple introduced RCS messaging with iOS 18, but it is the operators who will actually introduce this feature. Once this becomes widespread, the messaging experience between Android and iPhone users will be much better.
