Pixel Watch was introduced at the Google I/O 2022 event held on Wednesday. Thus, the smart watch, which has been circulating various leaks for about four years and is on the agenda with the rumors that it will be released every year, has become official.
Google explained not only its work in the wearable device market, but also its innovations in many of its products, including Translate and Assistant. On the other hand, he noted that Pixel Watch will be available for sale with the Pixel 7 series towards the end of the year. The technology giant did not mention the features of the watch, but the latest news did not please the users.
Pixel Watch uses a four-year-old processor
According to a source speaking to 9to5Google, the Pixel Watch is powered by the Exynos 9110 wearable processor that Samsung introduced four years ago. We first saw this in the Galaxy Watch model, which was introduced in 2018 and came with the Tizen operating system.
Actually, it’s no surprise that Google chose Samsung for the processor. The two companies are in close cooperation, especially on the mobile side. As it will be remembered, the South Korean company switched to the Wear OS platform with the Galaxy Watch 4. Within the scope of this cooperation, it was also clear from last year’s leaks that the Pixel Watch will be supported by the Exynos processor.
However, the fact that it uses a four-year-old processor instead of a more up-to-date 5nm processor such as the 5nm Exynos W920 in Galaxy Watch 4 raises a question mark, but it should not be forgotten that this is just a leak. It is possible to encounter very different results when the device is on the market.
By the way, Google Pixel Watch will be presented to users with a special strap design. Many people criticized Google for its Apple-like move. Unfortunately, the price of the smartwatch has not been disclosed.
