Angry Birds was released in 2009. In the period when smartphones were just beginning to become widespread, this game was very popular and remained popular for a long time. But today, the game’s developer company, Rovio Entertainment, announced that Rovio Classics: Angry Birds has been removed from the Play Store in a post on its Twitter account. So, why did the company take such a decision and what was its explanation? Let’s take a look at the details of the news together.
Last two days to download Angry Birds game from Play Store!
According to Rovio Entertainment’s statement on its Twitter account, Angry Birds will be removed from the Play Store on February 23, 2023, two days later. Angry Birds, which is shown among the most popular video games in the world, will still be used on pre-downloaded Android smartphones. But if there is any update to the game, this will not be possible.
Rovio Entertainment also stated that the Angry Birds game will remain on the App Store. Additionally, it announced that it will be renamed as Red’s First Flight on the App Store. Regarding the issue, the company made the following statement:
“We reviewed Angry Birds’ business case and decided on Rovio Classics because of the game’s impact on our broader game portfolio. Angry Birds will be delisted on the Google Play Store on Thursday, February 23. Additionally, the game will be renamed Red’s First Flight on the App Store pending further review.”
According to the company’s statement, the original version of the game will be removed from the Play Store due to the influence of other variants and will be rebranded via the App Store. The company is likely to do this to make the game stand out again.
On the other hand, it should be remembered that Angry Birds was first released for iOS. The production, which was later released for Android, was removed from both the App Store and Play Store in 2019. Fans of the game later called the company on Twitter, and the game returned to both stores.
