According to data from UK-based digital marketing agency Yard reported on Friday, it was Taylor Swift’s private jet that caused the most carbon emissions among celebrity planes this year. The singer’s plane has made 170 flights in 2022, with an average flight time of 80 minutes, and has exceeded 380 hours in total. With an estimated average jet fuel consumption of 485 liters per trip, Swift’s aircraft emitted 8,293 tons of CO2, according to the data.
Yard says it uses data from Celebrity Jets, which tracks the flights of private jets around the world, to reach these numbers. Thanks to these data, it is possible to calculate the estimated total CO2 emissions.
According to a Swift spokesperson, the singer’s jet is often rented out to other people, so it’s not entirely fair to say that Swift is responsible for all of the trips.
The second name on the list was the jet of boxer Floyd Mayweather, with a total of 326 hours of flight and 7,000 tons of CO2 emissions. In the third place is Jay-Z with 321 hours and 6,900 tons.
