The list of phones that will receive the Android 12L update has appeared. Developed with widescreen devices in mind, the operating system aims to increase usability on 600 dp and above screens. Emphasizing that it should not be seen as a ‘new Android version’ by Google, Android 12L will also take its place on foldable phones.
The company shared the timeline for the Developer Preview versions of Android 12L. Announcing that it will start releasing the beta version in December, Google stated that the work will continue until 2022. During this time, developers will be able to make their apps compatible with Android 12L.
Android 12L is coming out in the first quarter of 2022
The Developer Preview of Android 12L is now available to Android Studio users. Google will release the first public beta in December. The beta process, which will continue in January and February, will end in March 2022. On this date, Android 12L will be introduced to the user with the official version.
Of course, the update will not be limited to Pixel phones. Google has confirmed that Android 12L will come to the Galaxy Z Fold3, along with key features such as ‘Activity Embedding’. Activity Embed will allow you to view two properties of an application at the same time. This feature will also be available on tablets on the market, including the Lenovo P12 Pro.
