All of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series processors have a small graphics processor based on RDNA 2. The performance of this integrated GPU is not enough for gaming, but one computer guru managed to increase its performance by more than 40 percent by overclocking the GPU in the Ryzen 7900.

The performance of the integrated GPU in the Ryzen 7900 has been radically improved

With work and tweaks by SkatterBencher, the integrated RDNA 2 GPU (2.20 GHz) has been overclocked to an impressive 3.1 GHz, resulting in up to 42 percent performance gains. In overclocking, AMD Precision Boost Overdrive and GFX Curve Optimizer By combining the two methods, the full potential of the processor was revealed with higher voltages.

At the end of the day, the 42 percent performance gain is high yes, but it doesn’t really mean much because the GPU itself is extremely underpowered. However, in the tests, Tomb Raider’s ground speeds were increased from 12 to 17 FPS with the integrated GPU. However, in the popular FPS game CS: GO, 79 FPS was obtained instead of 57 FPS.

Interestingly, however, the overclocking performance of integrated RDNA 2 graphics cards seems to be better than discrete models. In this context, it may be possible to increase the performance of the integrated GPUs in AMD’s upcoming Dragon Range mobile processors, which are expected to be more powerful, to a large extent.
